Teaching Assistant - The Thomas Hardye School

Teaching Assistant vacancy – Grade 5 (Part-Time: 31.25 hours, term-time basis)

Contract Details

  • Hours: 31.25 hours per week (over 5 days), with 3 inset days
  • Contract Length: Permanent
  • Salary: £18,015 to £18,545 (full-time equivalent salary up to £25,989)
  • Closing Date: Tuesday, 14th July
  • Interview Date: Friday, 17th July
  • Preferred Start Date: 1st September 2026

About the Role

We are seeking an innovative Teaching Assistant to provide vital support to students in our school. You will be responsible for engaging, motivating, and aiding students who face challenges in learning and communication—both in the classroom and within intervention groups.

What We Require

  • An enthusiastic and committed individual who prioritises the learning needs of young people.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with students, peers, and adults.
  • A minimum Level 2 qualification (equivalent to a GCSE Grade 4/C or above) in both English and Maths.
  • The ability to communicate effectively and maintain confidentiality in all interactions.
  • Adaptability, flexibility, proactivity, and an optimistic attitude in fast-paced settings.
