Position: Teaching Assistant

Location: Wythenshawe (M23)

Position: Full-Time Teaching Assistant

Start Date: Sept 2026

Salary: GBP14.25 to GBP16.65 per hour

Working hours: 6 hours 15 mins only per day

We are looking for a committed Teaching Assistant to work across KS1, providing support to pupils with a range of SEND needs. This full-time, long-term role is perfect for a Teaching Assistant who thrives in a nurturing environment and is eager to support children in their learning and development.

Key Responsibilities For The Teaching Assistant

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with various SEND needs, including ASD, communication difficulties, social struggles, emotional needs, and anxiety.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored learning strategies.
  • Support pupils in staying engaged with classroom activities and promote their independence.
  • Adapt teaching resources to ensure all children can access the curriculum.
  • Occasionally provide additional support in Reception when required.

Requirements For The Teaching Assistant

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, particularly with SEND pupils, is highly desirable.
  • A patient, caring, and proactive approach to working with children.
  • Strong communication skills to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • A commitment to making learning accessible and enjoyable for all students.
