About The Role
We seek an experienced Teaching Assistant with Dyslexia Training to provide 1:1 personalised support for a Key Stage 2 pupil with an EHCP, helping them thrive academically and confidently.
The role involves working alongside the SENCo and Class Teacher to implement targeted interventions aligned with the pupil’s dyslexia-related needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver 1:1 dyslexia-specific support, ensuring the pupil accesses the curriculum effectively
- Implement EHCP targets and structured interventions
- Adapt learning materials using dyslexia-friendly strategies (e.g., multi-sensory approaches, scaffolding, structured literacy)
- Support literacy skills, organisation, independence, and confidence
- Monitor progress and record feedback for teachers
- Encourage positive behaviour while maintaining a supportive pupil relationship
- Assist with focus, task completion, and independent learning
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Level 3 Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) qualification in Dyslexia (or equivalent recognised qualification)
- GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)
- Experience in 1:1 TA or Learning Support roles
- Experience supporting children with dyslexia and SLD
- Knowledge of SEND and the SEND Code of Practice
- Ability to deliver targeted, structured interventions
