Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Salary: TA2
Hours: 08:40 - 13:00 Monday to Friday, term time only plus TED days
Location: Red Hill CE Primary School
Positions Available: Permanent & Temporary
Start Date: 01 September 2026 or ASAP after that
About the Role
The Governors and staff of our large church school are seeking to appoint two suitably qualified Teaching Assistant to work in one of our classes during the morning and over the lunchtime period. The role will be term time only: 21 hours 40 minutes (8.40am – 1.00pm) per week. There is an opportunity in our Wrap Around Care before and after school and also as 1-1 TA in the afternoons which the successful applicant may also be interested in.
Key Responsibilities
- Have experience of supporting children within the primary age range/school setting
- Have experience/interest in working with children with specific and/or complex needs
- Have high expectations for our children’s progress and overall achievement
- Take an imaginative and creative approach to curriculum learning that captures the children’s interest
- Be flexible, forward thinking, innovative and highly energetic
- Have an understanding of how children learn, including social/emotional development
- Have a passion for quality teaching and learning, enabling the best outcomes for our children
- Be able to work well as part of our whole school team and school community
- Have a background in Speech and Language (not essential but preferable)
- Support our Christian ethos as a church school
