Teaching Assistant
2 Temporary Positions, 56.5 hours
Academy: Outwood Academy Hasland Hall
Start Date: 01/09/2026
Salary (Actual Salary): £19285.47 - £19591.52 (Grade 3)
Working Pattern: Average working week FTE 1 - 32.5 Per Week, Term Time + 1 Weeks
Location: Outwood Academy Hasland Hall, Chesterfield

About The Role
We are looking for passionate individuals who are committed to making a significant difference to the lives of our students. The role of Teaching Assistant is to promote the learning and welfare of students by providing practical and learning support under the direction of the class teacher.
Responsibilities:
- Integral to the teaching cycle
- Implementing planned learning activities
- Supporting the teacher in monitoring and recording student progress
- Providing constructive feedback to students
- Supporting students with special educational needs (SEND) or English as an additional language (EAL)
- Assisting in the development of individual plans like One Page Profiles and EHCPs
- Supporting student social and emotional well-being
- Assisting with eating, dressing, and hygiene where required
- Providing cover and assistance in intervention settings like the Bridge and PLC
- Assisting in escorting and supervising students on educational visits
- Invigilating formal examinations

Qualifications
We require candidates with experience in a school environment or directly with children and young people. Essential skills include:
- Strong communication skills
- Proficiency in using standard ICT packages, including Microsoft Office
- Ability to respect and maintain confidentiality, following general data protection regulations
- Willingness to undertake necessary training to assist students, including meeting medical or care plan agreements
Previous experience working with children with Special Needs and/or challenging behaviours is desirable.
