Role: Teaching Assistant - Primary
Location: Taunton
Salary: £93-100 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)
Start date: September 2026

About The Role
Connex Education are working exclusively with a Multi Academy Trust (BWMAT) across Taunton + surrounding areas.
Connex Education are looking for Teaching Assistants to work on a day-to-day supply basis, as well as short to long term placements. These roles involve supporting both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 classes, offering general classroom assistance as well as one-to-one or small group support, depending on the needs of each school. Key Responsibilities
- Support teachers with classroom activities and learning tasks
- Work with individual pupils and small groups to encourage participation
- Assist in creating a positive and engaging learning environment
- Help prepare classroom resources and learning materials
- Promote positive behaviour and pupil wellbeing
- Support pupils' social, emotional, and academic development
- Build strong relationships with pupils and staff
- Follow safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times
Person Specification
- Experience working with children aged 4-11 in a UK primary school setting
- Good communication and behaviour management skills
- Understanding of classroom routines and the primary curriculum
- Knowledge of Phonics and Read, Write Inc. is desirable
- Organised, adaptable and enthusiastic
- Must hold a DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
