Key Stage Teacher Supply is seeking a patient and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive mainstream school in Preston (PR1), working with a pupil who requires additional support to access learning.
This is a full-time, long-term position, supporting a pupil within a mainstream classroom environment. The role involves working on a 1:1 basis.
The school has a strong focus on inclusive practice and pupil support, with a collaborative staff team and clear support structures in place, making it an excellent opportunity for a SEND Teaching Assistant looking to develop their experience in a mainstream setting.

SEND Teaching Assistant Role Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or SEND TA
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND in a mainstream school setting
- Understanding of needs such as ASD, ADHD, and SEMH
- Ability to build strong, supportive relationships with pupils
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills
- A patient, resilient, and nurturing approach
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply

The Successful SEND Teaching Assistant Will
- Provide 1:1 to a pupil with behavioural additional needs
- Adapt learning activities to support different learning styles
- Support the class teacher in delivering inclusive lessons
- Help manage behaviour using consistent and supportive strategies
- Encourage engagement, independence, and confidence
- Work closely with the SENCO, teacher, and wider support staff
