The Opportunity
The School for Cross-faculty Studies at University of Warwick seeks a Teaching Fellow in Design Studies to contribute to a dynamic and interdisciplinary educational community. This role serves a growing focus on Design Studies, supporting students in developing critical and creative perspectives on how design shapes contemporary challenges.
Key Focus Areas
The ideal candidate will have expertise in:
- Sustainability
- Systems
- Service Design
- Policy Design
Applicants must demonstrate substantial experience in one or more of these fields through:
- Teaching
- Research
- Professional practice
- Related work

About You
We are seeking a passionate, innovative educator who thrives at the intersection of design, interdisciplinarity, and social engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach across Design for Sustainable Innovation (BASc), Design & Global Sustainable Development (BASc/MASc), and Design for Sustainability (MASc, co-delivered with WMG)
- Lead design-led teaching practices, including project-based learning, collaborative approaches, and creative pedagogy
- Foster inclusive, research-informed, and experimental learning environments
- Contribute to curriculum development, assessment design, and student support

Essential Criteria
- Enthusiasm for design as a pluralistic, socially engaged, and future-oriented field
- Teaching experience engaging students from diverse disciplinary/cultural backgrounds
- Commitment to inclusive, research-informed teaching practices
- Experience demonstrating teaching excellence in underway evolving areas like Design for Sustainability
Desirable
- Experience with project-based or studio learning pedagogy
- Established record of student mentorship, interdisciplinary collaboration, and collaborative learning environments
- Dedication to an expanding research program engaging with critical questions in the field
