Teaching Fellow in Data Science and Statistics

We seek highly motivated Data Science and Statistics professionals ready to join the School of Mathematics at the University of Leeds.
About the Role
You will play a pivotal role in supporting the School’s teaching, student education, and leadership for curriculum enhancement. Your responsibilities include:
- Contributing to online teaching and digital education, particularly for global distance-learning cohorts
- Supporting the development of mathematics education for the digital age
- Engaging in innovative practices aligned with the London Mathematical Society Good Practice Scheme
- Joining the Prime initiative (Practice-based Research in Mathematics Education), enhancing teaching strategies and student governance
- Potential collaborative work within the Department of Statistics

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver online teaching materials aligned with version 2.0 enhanced curriculum
- Collaborate on interdisciplinary research-led initiatives, including digital education, online learning techniques, blended learning strategies, student evaluation processes, and mathematics education
- Act as a mentor and pedagogical leader, contributing to teaching improvement within the School
- Contribute to projects linked with the Department of Prime and Department of Statistics
- Participate in faculty governance, supporting academic operations and student success
- Engage in continual professional development through institutional training programs
Requirements & Qualifications
- Enthusiasm for experiential and discovery-based learning, especially in mathematics, statistics, and/or data science
- Proven ability to deliver effective undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, with prior experience in online learning preferred
- Commitment to engaging with emerging trends in digital education while maintaining high academic rigor
- Desire to contribute to multidisciplinary research and pedagogy in teaching, learning, evaluation, and assessment
- Strong willingness to liaise with School Executives, Prime members, and Department of Statistics colleagues
