Teaching and Learning Administrator (Programmes and Curriculum)
We are seeking a motivated and collaborative individual to join our team as a Teaching and Learning Administrator (Programmes and Curriculum). This role offers an exciting opportunity to support the administration within the School of Biological Sciences, working in a dynamic and inclusive environment.
Responsibilities
- To be responsible for the administration of Teaching and Learning and Student Administration activities for the team assigned
- To supervise and coordinate the work of teaching and learning, and Student Administration, acting as a point of reference
- To provide information, advice, and guidance to stakeholders
- To work flexibly, as required, across the University, supporting the delivery of university and local priorities, operating as a single cross-University team
- To demonstrate active engagement with the need for diversity and inclusion, for example:
- Working with individuals identifying with a protected characteristic under the Equality Act
- Supporting students from under-represented backgrounds in higher education via the University’s widening participation strategy

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Relevant knowledge and experience of:
- Teaching and learning policies and procedures
- Student administration policies and procedures
- Flexibility and responsiveness to meet customer needs
- Excellent communication skills with an ability to provide advice while maintaining confidentiality
- Proven experience supervising staff and coordinating tasks
- Strong organisational skills:
- Ability to prioritise work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Meeting strict deadlines
- Ability to work collaboratively in a large organisation, demonstrating flexibility to support colleagues
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail ensuring accuracy
- Strong digital literacy skills (with training flexibility for unfamiliar systems)
Desirable Knowledge, Skills, Experience, and Qualifications
- Prior work experience in higher education administration
- Familiarity with University systems (e.g., Campus Solutions, Canvas)
- Experience in a customer service environment
- Prior support for field courses, placements, or similar activities
While formal qualifications are valuable, our team values transferable skills and real-world experience equally.
