About Us

RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Providing assessment, early intervention and preventative support to children, young people and their families or carers referred to the Project.

LIAISON:

  • Service users and partner agencies - statutory, voluntary and independent organisations.

MAJOR PURPOSE OF POST:

To provide a direct service to children, young people and their families/carers, in line with the Families First guidance, relevant national standards and local and national legislation and guidance

About The Role

Pay Details:

  • Grade 6, SCP 14 - 19 £29,540 - £32,061 p.a.

Hours of Work / Working Pattern:

  • 37 hours a week, Monday to Friday, some flexibility required

Main Place of Work:

  • Barry

Temporary Reason:

  • Welsh Government funded role

Description:

  • To provide a consistent and quality service to all service users (children, young people, parents & carers) referred to the Families First TAF Service.
  • To undertake service user assessments including assessments of need and assessments of risk to inform support planning, in line with Service and national standards.
  • To facilitate and chair TAF multi agency meetings and reviews to ensure support plans are agreed, implemented and monitored in line with agreed service standards.
  • To implement agreed support plans including ongoing assessment, planning, monitoring and reviewing responsibilities in line with service standards.

About You

You will need:

  • Experience of working in an appropriate Statutory/Voluntary setting with children/young people and families in a strengths based way and in partnership with other agencies
  • Experience of supporting families with complex needs
  • Ability to assess, plan, action, review and evaluate
  • Ability to work on your own and as part of a team with a high level of personal motivation and ability to motivate others
  • Ability to communicate effectively and sensitively (in both written and oral form)
