Make a huge impact on the climate and nature emergencies by guiding Extinction Rebellion UK [XRUK] Operations.
The Team Guide role is a big job - close to a full-time role - and can work well as a role share between more than one person.
What difference will you make?
Extinction Rebellion UK has three demands. XRUK Operations exists to achieve these via the strategy. You will be instrumental in supporting system change needed to reduce the harm to nature and reaching net zero.
Three Demands
Tell The Truth
All institutions must communicate the danger we are in. We must be clear about the extreme cascading risks humanity now faces, the injustice this represents, its historic roots, and the urgent need for rapid political, social and economic change.
Act Now
Every part of society must act now to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to net zero and begin protecting and repairing nature immediately. The whole of society must move into a new precautionary paradigm, where life is sacred and all are in service to ensuring its future.
Decide Together
We demand a culture of participation, fairness and transparency. The Government must create and be led by a Citizens’ Assembly on Climate and Ecological Justice. Only the common sense of ordinary people will help us navigate the challenging decisions ahead.
What are we looking for?
The role can be shared between two or three people, reducing the time commitment necessary. We recommend shadowing for as long as you need to learn about the role and have a robust handover with the current Team Guides.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
