Team Lead – Vaccination Programmes & Immunisation Clinics

Job Title

Team Lead

Contract: Permanent Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Job Purpose

The Team Lead will oversee immunisation operations to ensure:

  • Vaccination programmes are delivered on time and meet contract specifications.
  • All compliance, scheduling, and logistics align with organisational and legal standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Management

  • Lead and manage the immunisation team, including:
    • Performance reviews, absence management.
    • Hiring, onboarding, probation reviews.
    • Conducting one-to-one meetings.
  • Foster a harmonious, inclusive work environment, modelling core values.
  • Motivate teams to deliver consistent, high-quality results.

Operations & Site Coordination

  • Plan and maintain rotas ensuring full administrative/nursing coverage.
  • Arrange emergency shift coverage when required.
  • Coordinate clinic-level day-to-day operations at assigned borough(s).

Programme Management

  • Ensure school immunisation sessions and catch-up clinics meet contract KPIs.
  • Finalise schedules aligning with deadlines and contractual obligations.

Compliance & Legal

  • Manage consent form processing in line with Immunisation Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Maintain and monitor Patient Group Directives (PGDs) for immunisations, ensuring compliance.
  • Protect client and patient data per health/safety laws.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Oversee team budgets, forecasting, and KPI-tied financial accountability.

Improvement Strategies

  • Monitor immunisation uptake metrics, then:
    • Collaborate with schools and management to address low-performance gaps.
    • Develop and implement improvement strategies.

Vaccine Logistics & Procurement

  • Oversee stock ordering and orchestrate vaccine transport to service locations.
  • Maintain supply chain efficiency.

Collaboration & Reporting

  • Actively contribute to team meetings.
  • Support and deputise as needed for the Programme Manager.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures.

Experience, Skills & Requirements:

Key Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent (preferred, not mandatory).
  • Proven leadership skills with a track record in managing high-functioning teams.
  • Strong expertise in rota planning and workforce scheduling.

Core Competencies

  • Deep understanding of performance metrics and analytical reporting.
  • Exceptional communication (written and verbal) to liaise with schools, medical staff, and senior management.
  • Outstanding organisational skills and precise time management.
  • Team player mindset with critical thinking capabilities.
  • Ability to exercise assertive decision-making under pressure.

Technical Proficiencies

  • Competence in advanced Microsoft Excel, financial modelling, and scheduling tools.
