Role Overview

Fresha is scaling globally, and the Platform team plays a critical role in ensuring this growth is fast, safe, and sustainable.

As the Platform Engineering Team Lead, you will:

  • Be accountable for team performance & outcomes—ensuring predictable delivery, proactive communication, robust architecture, and operational standards.
  • Transform platform development and operations through AI and automation, reducing toil, improving reliability, and enabling scalable engineering decisions.
  • Drive infrastructure readiness aligned with business goals, blending platform strategy with operational excellent.

Your work will directly contribute to enhancing customer experiences by building a high-performance, responsive platform.

Key Responsibilities

Platform & Infrastructure Readiness

  • Apply AI-assisted automation to reduce toil, improve operational reliability, and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Align technical strategy with broader company goals, ensuring targeted outcomes.
  • Define and evolve infrastructure architecture to support multi-region deployments for scalable growth.

Observability & Operational Excellence

  • Implement AI-powered detection & automation to minimize manual efforts and enhance signal quality.
  • Extend monitoring, alerting, and observability across services with real-time data visibility.
  • Improve access to operational insights, making them actionable for efficiency gains.

Ownership, Delivery & Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Lead cross-functional initiatives involving Product, Engineering, and Security teams.
  • Ensure platform reliability & performance with high-quality results, balancing speed and stability.
  • Scope, prioritise, and deliver platform initiatives with measurable impact.

People Leadership & Talent Development

  • Set challenging yet achievable goals consistent with industry-leading technical standards.

  • Maintain clear expectations and empower teams to make high-impact decisions.

  • Foster professional growth through:

    • Regular coaching & feedback
    • Delegation of responsibilities
    • Knowledge-sharing initiatives
    • Retrospectives & documented processes
  • Own team onboarding & health, ensuring a productive, inclusive environment.


Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for a seasoned engineering leader with:

  • Proven experience leading platform, infrastructure, or SRE teams, driving impactful results.
  • Hands-on expertise with automation & AI/ML tools (especially for observability, incident response, and reducing operational overhead).
  • Deep technical expertise in:
    • Cloud architecture (AWS EKS, RDS, S3, CloudFront), or equivalents on GCP/Azure.
    • DevOps & Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles.
    • Distributed systems, Linux fundamentals, and networking (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, load balancing).

  • Proficiency in:

    • High-level programming in Python, Go, or Bash
    • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) to build scalable, low-risk systems.
  • Practical experience building observability stacks leveraging:

    • Datadog, Grafana, ELK, Sentry, OpsGenie for metrics, logs, and trace analysis.
  • Creative problem-solving skills with a focus on simplifying complexity and delivering scalable solutions.

  • Comfort in a high-growth, ambiguous environment with strong ownership and accountability.

  • Prior experience with Claude code (or similar).


Interview Process

  1. Screen Stage
    • Video-call (45-60 mins) with a Talent Team member.
  2. 1st Stage
    • Technical interview (90 mins) with the team (video/on-site).
  3. 2nd Stage
    • Technical interview (up to 1.5 hrs) with the team.
  4. Final Stage
    • Video interview with VP of Engineering & CTO (60 mins).

Fresha aims to finalize interviews and provide feedback within 4 weeks.
