We’re looking for individuals with the drive and vision to provide leadership and direction to our front-line operational delivery teams.
As a Team Leader and member of the Area Leadership Group, you will be accountable for the performance, wellbeing and development of your team and for ensuring the delivery of environmental outcomes, excellent customer service and safe operational performance across Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cheshire.
You will:
- Provide visible, inclusive leadership to create a positive, high-performing team culture.
- Motivate, coach and develop colleagues to achieve their full potential.
- Manage individual and collective performance, addressing issues and recognising success.
- Lead the delivery of operational objectives and environmental outcomes within your area of responsibility.
- Plan and prioritise resources to balance planned work, emerging priorities and incident response requirements.
- Ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with Environment Agency policies and procedures.

The team
We are recruiting Team Leaders for a range of operational teams working across office and field-based environments. Our Teams work across various portfolios including Environment Management, Incident Management, Regulation and Enforcement and Flood and Coastal Risk Management.
You’ll join our Area Leadership Group and lead one of our operational delivery teams working across the Area. As an active member of group, you’ll contribute to local and national priorities and support continuous improvement and organisational change.

Experience/skills Required
You will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Leading and developing teams and creating inclusive, supportive cultures that promote wellbeing, equality, diversity, and inclusion

You’ll have an inclusive incident management objective in your development plan. We’ll help you find a role to suit your needs. Appropriate training will be given.
This role is based in our Warrington office. Travel will be required to other offices, depots and locations which may not be accessible via public transport, so you'll need a full UK driving license.

Role specific license requirements
Full UK driving license
