Team Leader
Location: Darwen, Lancashire
Job Type: Permanent, 37 hours per week, 07.15am – 17.00 Monday to Thursday
Salary: Competitive based on skills/ experience
We are looking for a Team leader with working experience within a manufacturing environment to manually lay up composite, structural and non structural components. The ideal candidate will possess leadership abilities to drive performance with the flexibility to cover other areas of the business when required and in line with abilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with other team leaders and business unit leaders to achieve departmental goals and ensure alignment. To work collaboratively with the support functions of the business.
- Provide daily leadership to direct reports, promoting the best standards of quality and ensuring health and safety compliance is adhered to.
- Enhance team engagement through proactive communication and targeted initiatives that promote collaboration and motivation.
- Ensure departmental utilisation and efficiency align with company and departmental performance targets, while focusing on quality and minimising scrap production.
- Oversee quality including root cause analysis for any quality-related non-conformances to drive continuous improvement.
- Facilitate regular communication within the team, conducting observational assessments and maintaining accurate skills matrices.
- Maintain comprehensive training records for all team members to support their professional development.
- Promote cross-functional training to develop skills and capabilities in line with business requirements.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness.
- Manage employee absence proactively, adhering to company guidelines and in collaboration with the HR team.
- Ensure all new starters are trained to a standard and in line with the onboarding processes to build a strong team.

- Excellent leadership and managerial skills.
- Willingness to work as part of a wider team and across functions within the business.
- Ability to make and execute timely business decisions.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to develop others.
- Customer focused with the ability to communicate effectively.
- Self-motivating with the ability to engage and motivate team members, and colleagues.
- Computer literate with strong IT equipment proficiently.

- Holidays start at 28 days (including bank holidays) (Based on 4- day week)
- Overtime rates after basic hours are 1.5 of your basic hourly rate Fridays and Saturdays
