Team Leader
Salary – £13.76 per hour
Hours – An average of 40 hours per week
Location – Cheshire East, CW1 3PJ
As a Recycling Centre Team Leader at FCC Environment, you will lead a team of Recycling Centre Operatives and Machine Drivers, ensuring the safe, efficient and compliant operation of the facility. You will oversee day-to-day site activities, support operational performance, monitor health and safety standards, and act as the first point of escalation for customer enquiries and site issues.
This vacancy is for a full-time position, working across the Cheshire East contract as required.

What will you be doing?
- Leading and supervising site staff to ensure safe and effective operations
- Preparing weekly rotas and arranging labour requirements where necessary
- Managing site housekeeping, cleanliness and recycling operations
- Monitoring site performance and implementing efficiency improvements
- Carrying out inspections, audits and routine management system checks
- Ensuring staff, contractors and visitors are inducted and working safely
- Managing stock levels of consumables and site equipment
- Conducting absence and return-to-work processes in line with company procedures
- Acting as the first point of contact for customer complaints, conflicts and incidents
- Supporting the development of site staff through training and coaching
What are we looking for?
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience
- Strong commitment to health, safety and environmental compliance
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and lead a small team
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
- Flexible approach to covering different sites across the Cheshire East contract
- Experience within the waste, recycling or similar operational environment would be advantageous
- Full driving licence preferred
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Reliable, trustworthy and committed to continuous improvement
