** Head of Core Infrastructure & Cloud Services**

You will lead a team delivering and supporting the Council’s core infrastructure application platforms, with a focus on cloud services and modern workplace technologies. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will:

  • Provide technical leadership across Azure, Exchange, and Microsoft 365
  • Drive automation and scripting to improve efficiency and reliability
  • Oversee the lifecycle, security, and performance of key services
  • Deliver technical projects, including cloud adoption and service improvements
  • Ensure high-quality third-line support and consistent service availability

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced technical professional with:

  • Strong leadership capability
  • Passion for modern IT services
  • Proven expertise in:
    • Azure
    • Exchange Online
    • Microsoft 365
    • Active Directory
  • Automation and scripting experience
  • Ability to lead or mentor technical teams
  • Proactive, solutions-focused mindset
  • Effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience managing cloud infrastructures
  • Technical leadership with a track record of cost-effective improvements
  • Deep knowledge of security and compliance in IT environments
  • Strong ability to mentor and coach team members

Key Responsibilities

✔ Lead infrastructure services with technical direction ✔ Implement scalable, efficient, and secure cloud solutions ✔ Drive process improvements through automation and best practices ✔ Ensure seamless service availability and performance monitoring
