Overview of the Role
Are you an experienced arboricultural professional with the leadership skills, technical expertise, and operational focus to guide a dedicated team within a nationally important garden?
RHS Garden Rosemoor is seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Team Leader to run the day-to-day management, maintenance, and development of the garden’s exceptional treescape during an important phase of its long-term growth.
In this role, you will provide clear direction, supervision, and support to the team, ensuring work is planned, prioritised, and delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high professional standard. You will take a leading role in the sustainable stewardship of the garden’s tree collection, applying sound arboricultural judgement while helping to shape practices that protect and enhance the tree collections for future generations; both the gardens extensive tree collection over 45-acres but also our 120-acre woodland estate.
The section is also responsible for the machinery fleet, garden irrigation, and helping to further develop and improve the garden with various related projects.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
