Team Leader - Communities Directorate Support (Fixed Term)

Hours: 37 hours per week

A unique opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and motivated Team Leader in the Communities Directorate Support to lead and develop the Directorate Support Unit. You’ll ensure high-quality administrative, operational, and strategic support is delivered effectively across Communities services.

The role in detail

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Directorate Support Unit
  • Support, coach, and develop team performance and staff wellbeing
  • Oversee complaints, FOI requests, and member enquiries
  • Manage communications with councillors, partners, and residents
  • Provide effective business support for meetings, consultations, and projects
  • Drive continuous improvements in systems, processes, and performance reporting

Additional requirements

  • The ability to greet customers in Welsh is essential for this position.
  • Protecting children, young people, or adults at risk is a core responsibility for all council employees.

Work arrangement

The council’s Hybrid Working Policy applies—jobs will be available part-time, flexibly, in the office, or from home based on discussions around legislative requirements and organisational needs.
