Position Summary
The Manufacturing Operations Team Leader acts as a mentor, groundbreaking production lead, and councillor of manufacturing operations. Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering schedule devotion while maintaining stringent quality control.
- Promoting a safe, engaging environment for colleagues.
- Championing Lean principles and Process Performance Improvement (PPI).
- Supporting new product transfers (NPIs) through effective training and compliance.
- Leading investigations into non-compliance and unsafe practices to safeguard customer interests.

As the Team Leader, participate in the following critical functions:
Leadership & Team Growth
- Lead by example, coaching operators and sharing performance-improvement ideas.
- Foster a developing culture by mentoring both new and experienced team members.
- Align workloads and schedules for efficient department operations.
Operational Excellence
- Troubleshoot delays in real time and escalate critical issues to stakeholders.
- Work closely with Engineering to minimize downtime due to equipment failures.
- Monitor production bottlenecks and advocate for continuous process improvements.
Lean & Safety Compliance
- Embed Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles across team operations.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, COSSH assessments, and hazardous waste management protocols.
- Maintain a clean, ordered, and safe workspace—rooting out unnecessary hazards.
Training & Procedural Resources
- Collaborate on scheduling, onboarding, and proficiency assessments through systems like SFLMS.
- Draft, update, and revise SOPs, standards (OCPLM), and training materials to support NPIs and team development.
Problem Resolution
- Direct issue investigations in tools like Trackwise and guide teams toward remedial actions.
- Oversee containment and remediation actions to prevent recurring non-conformance.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
To excel in this role, candidates must possess (and demonstrate):
- Demonstrated manufacturing experience with familiarity across Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
- Self-directed planning skills, excelling in multi-priority workload management.
- Ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams (e.g., Engineering Support, Planning).
- Solid grasp of quality and regulatory standards, including ISO certifications.
- Strong proficiency in health/safety protocols and hazardous waste compliance.
- Excellent communication, analytical thinking, and time management.
