Team Leader – Waitrose Shop Role

About The Role

As a Team Leader within one of our Waitrose shops, you'll help our customers experience exceptional service every time they visit, delivering the Partner-led expertise and passion for food that rivals simply can’t match. Your commitment to going the extra mile—supporting both customers and other team members—will leave a lasting impression, building day-to-day trust and lifetime loyalty to the Waitrose brand while driving sales, profit, and operational excellence.

Due to working time regulations, applicants must be 18 years or over to apply.

Key Responsibilities

Your role combines delivering outstanding customer service with shopkeeping and management duties to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the shop’s management team to meet customer demand across all areas of the operation
  • Ensuring Partners (team members) adhere to safety, compliance, and legal standards
  • Fulfilling online orders for Waitrose-delivered shopping, ensuring swift and accurate preparation for drivers
  • Stock replenishment: Maintaining fully stocked shelves and correct product placement for seamless customer experience
  • Supporting key functions with shift flexibility, including checkout assistance, Click & Collect coordination, and handling on-demand customer orders
  • Proactively driving commercial performance—offering continuous improvement strategies to enhance efficiency
  • Minimising waste by implementing product due diligence and timely markdowns for near-dated items
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly working environment through effective shopkeeping

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
