Team Leader – Waitrose (Sheffield)
About the Role
As a Team Leader within one of our Waitrose shops, you’ll help shape our Partner-led service and drive the passion for food that our competitors can’t match—passionate Partners serving food lovers.
Your commitment to excellence will leave a lasting impression on customers, earning their trust and loyalty—and helping the shop maximise sales and profit. All the while, punctuality during evenings (22:00–06:00) earns Night Premium at £3.75/hour. Due to legal requirements, applicants must be 18+.
Key Responsibilities
Your role combines customer-focused excellence with operational leadership across a range of tasks:

Leadership & Support
- Assist management with shop stewardship and ensure all operational areas meet customer demand.
- Oversee Partner compliance, guaranteeing safe, legal operations.

Fulfilling Orders & Service
- Coordinate online and on-demand orders for seamless delivery and Click & Collect.
- Manage stock replenishment, keeping shelves optimised for sales.

Operational Collaboration
- Provide back-up across the shop, including checkout, order management, and desktop tasks.
- Continuously drive commercial performance, proposing operational improvements.

Loss Prevention & Efficiency
- Reduce wastage via proper product rotation and markdown of near-expiry items.
- Maintain a safe, tidy environment while upholding cleaning standards.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong people management and team leadership skills.
- Proven retail experience, with a focus on boosting sales and operational efficiency.
- Prior customer-facing experience is essential.
- Able to manage third-party relationships and internal collaboration effectively.
(Desirable): Duty Manager Training (Internal Partners only).

- Hours: 23:00–08:00 (Wed–Sat)
- Rate: £14.58/hour
- Contract Type: Temporary
- Job Level: Partnership Level 10
