An opportunity has arisen for a Team Leader based at Magna Park, Milton Keynes.
37.5 hours per week (over 7 days on a rota basis)
PM shift - 2pm - 10pm
£15.59ph
A quick look at the role
Leading the waste operative team to ensure H&S compliance, team productivity optimisation and performance, and shift reporting. Supporting the Supervisor in staff and task allocation and appropriate shift cover. In addition to leading the team you will be operating machinery which include Forklift, LLOP, Counterbalances, Compactor and Balers. The Team Leader will effectively and efficiently process waste whilst ensuring all health and safety procedures are adhered to. Each material is to be processed as per the guidelines and all data to be captured and recorded accurately.
Your Core Responsibilities
- Take responsibility to ensure all H&S issues are reported and received from waste operatives
- Complete visual inspections and machine check sheets before use
- Liaise with JLP Maintenance to report any machinery issues
- Ensure waste areas are always kept clean and tidy
- Processing and sorting of various waste materials into appropriate streams, which are presented at each campus
- Capturing and recording all data accurately as required
- Operating of machinery which include Forklift, LLOP, Counterbalances, Compactors and Balers
- Upholding all Health and Safety and company procedures
- Reporting Accidents, near miss and incidents in a timely manner
- Ensure correct PPE is always worn whilst on site by all team members
- Customers site policy and procedures are always adhered to
- Promoting a positive safety, health and wellbeing culture at site
- Ensuring a good customer care and positive interactions with customers, drivers and other stakeholders

- Ability to lead an operational team
- High priority and focus on leading Health & Safety within the team
- Must be punctual and will be expected to start their shift on time
- Good communication skills both written and verbal
- Excellent Teamwork skills
- Flexibility will be required to ensure workload is completed
