Job Description

We are looking to recruit a Team Leader to work within our Criminal Justice Department within Avon & Somerset. If you are looking for a career that will help bring offenders to justice, then we would like to hear from you.

Every person that works for us, is in some way supporting and serving the community we represent. Each day brings you new challenges and decision making and your learning and development will be ongoing within the department.

You will be joining our vital Road Safety Support Unit (RSSU) team who support the detection and prosecution of road traffic offences. These can range from collisions to officer witnessed offences and other road traffic incidents including speeding & red light violations.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the management and guidance of staff. You will be able to demonstrate how you motivate staff to work together as a team. You will have excellent communication skills, work accurately under pressure and prioritise your own workload in order to achieve deadlines to ensure that all enquiries and complaints are satisfactorily progressed.

The successful candidate will be responsible for responding to queries from members of the public, other departments within the organisation and/or outside agencies.

Main Responsibilities

  • To have responsibility for the management and guidance of staff.
  • To ensure that all enquiries and complaints are satisfactorily progressed.
  • To respond to queries from members of the public, other departments within the organisation or other outside agencies.
  • To prioritise and manage workloads.
  • To ensure the effective creation, maintenance and updating of a variety of computerised databases.
  • Analyse statistical data and produce reports.
  • To be responsible for correspondence relating to the office.

Skills, Experience And Qualifications Required

You will need experience of working with computers, especially Microsoft packages, including Excel.

  • The ability to motivate, develop, support and manage staff.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbally and in writing, with both small and large groups of people.
  • An ability to motivate staff to work together as a team.
  • Experience of administration work is essential.
