Substantive
Full Time – 36 hours per week
Band 7 - Salary Range £52,845 - £61,466 per annum
Distant Island Allowance of £2,578 per annum
A Relocation Assistance of up to £8000 available
About the Role
The Substance Misuse Recovery Service provides community-based, holistic and recovery-focused treatment services to people who are experiencing harms related to the use of drugs and alcohol across Shetland. This is a challenging opportunity for a Registered General or Mental Health Nurse with relevant management experience to lead, develop and deliver the Service with the aim of achieving a human rights-based approach to a range of health, psychological, social and economic improvements for clients. This will include managing the delivery of evidence-based interventions, both clinical and psychological, as well as working collaboratively with local authority and third sector colleagues.
Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and deliver the Substance Misuse Recovery Service.
- Manage the delivery of evidence-based interventions, both clinical and psychological.
- Collaborate with local authority and third sector colleagues.
- Ensure a human rights-based approach to health, psychological, social, and economic improvements for clients.

Requirements
- Registered General or Mental Health Nurse with relevant management experience.
- Experience in the management and delivery of evidence-based care to people experiencing substance use problems.
- Management of controlled drugs.
- Experience of working in hospital and community-based primary care environments.
- Experience in people management and development.
- Systems and process management.
- Up-to-date working knowledge of current local and national policy and practice in relation to service user care and statutory obligations.
