About Murphy
Murphy is a leading international engineering and construction company, specialising in infrastructure, transportation, and energy sectors.
As part of ** Ofgem’s £29+ billion "Pathway to 2030"** programme, Murphy is delivering major electricity network upgrades across the north of Scotland. Key projects include:
- Constructing new substations
- Installing hundreds of kilometers of high-voltage overhead lines
- Laying underground cables to connect renewable energy to the national grid.
What’s In Store For You
As a Groundworks Team Leader / Supervisor, you will:
- Oversee and coordinate groundworks activities on critical developments
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, safely, and to the highest standards
What Your Day Will Include
- Supervising and leading groundworks teams to meet deadlines
- Conducting regular site inspections to ensure compliance and safety standards
- Monitoring equipment—usage, maintenance, and productivity optimisation
- Providing on-site leadership, guidance, and support to groundworks crews

What We Need From You
Essential:
- SSSTS / SMSTS certification
- Proven experience supervising groundworks projects
- In-depth knowledge of groundwork processes and techniques
- UK driving licence
Advantageous:
- Experience within the energy sector
Core Competencies:
- Strong communicator and collaborator
- Ability to build trust and working relationships within the team
- Flexibility to travel and accommodate temporary site-based assignments
