Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Team Leader to oversee the day-to-day running of our UK Optical Fibre Fusion Splicer Service Centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of technicians, ensuring high-quality service delivery, and fostering a positive working environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with strong leadership and communication skills to contribute to the centre’s success.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise a team of service staff, providing guidance and support to achieve operational targets
  • Coordinate and prioritise inspections, repairs and maintenance services within the Service Centre, ensuring efficient workflow and customer satisfaction
  • Analyse performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions
  • Foster a collaborative team environment that encourages development and high morale
  • Communicate effectively with team members, management, and customers

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous supervisory experience gained in a service maintenance role
  • Knowledge and experience in electro mechanical or opto assemblies
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good planning, analytical and organisational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to line manage a team, deal with other Company employees at all levels and customers in a professional manner
  • Good computer skills with a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • To be capable of lifting and moving machines and boxes
  • To be able to work to a specific time frame to ensure products are delivered to customers on time

A recognised qualification in electronics/telecommunications is desirable but not essential.
