Team Leader – Dimensions Department

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive and hands-on Team Leader to support the day-to-day operations of our Dimensions Department. This fast-paced role combines team leadership with active involvement on the production floor, ensuring quality, productivity, and safety standards are consistently met.


About the Role

You will lead and support a team of Production Technicians within a controlled manufacturing environment, driving performance, continuous improvement, and team development. The role includes overseeing key activities such as polishing, hydration, cleansing, measuring, and optical verification to ensure products meet specification before progressing to Cosmetic Inspection.

Working closely with Production Managers, you will support training, staffing, process improvements, and overall team performance, while acting as a key point of guidance and support across the department.


Key Responsibilities

Production & Team Leadership

  • Oversee room performance, working on and off machines/processes as required to meet daily/weekly output targets.
  • Review, implement, and assist with Process Improvement activities.
  • Lead staff training and certification where required.
  • Mentor new starters, maintaining a high standard of ability—must be an approachable, supportive team player.
  • Forecast demand with the Area Lead, planning overtime needs, staffing increases, or training requirements.
  • Execute any additional duties to support production processes as requested by Area Lead or Production Management.
  • Lead and coach your team to ensure performance drives results, including managing poor performance/behaviour in line with HR policies.
  • Take responsibility for team motivation and engagement, providing recognition and constructive feedback.
  • Monitor sickness absence trends and manage concerns in collaboration with HR support.
  • Participate in daily workflows, ensuring alignment with production demands.

Requirements

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience in a supervisory or team leadership role.
  • Strong team player, with ability to motivate, mentor, and support colleagues.
  • Hands-on manufacturing/production environment experience.
  • Clear communication skills—good at delivering instructions and guidance.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy (critical for precision tasks).
  • Good manual dexterity (polishing, handling small components, etc.).
  • Basic computer literacy for production records/data management.
  • Self-motivated, organised, and accountable.
  • Comfortable taking ownership and making confident decisions.
  • Positive attitude to change and continuous improvement.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience in regulated manufacturing environments (e.g., ISO, GMP).
  • Familiarity with cleanroom practices (if applicable to role).
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, or Continuous Improvement methodologies.
