Team Manager – Retail Management (Permanent, Full-Time)
Salary & Hours
- £27,034 per annum (prorata applies)
- 38 hours per week

About the Role
As a Team Manager at Matalan, you’ll be the key role model within our stores, embodying our core values and driving sales performance alongside a high-performing team. Your responsibilities will include:
- Coaching and motivating team members as a core part of store leadership.
- Standing in for the Store Manager when absent, ensuring smooth store operations.
- Using customer feedback to refine the shopping experience.
- Continuously exploring sales opportunities and identifying new revenue streams.

Key Responsibilities
You’ll be expected to:
- Optimise sales by identifying and exploiting commercial opportunities.
- Demonstrate exceptional customer service, embodying the Matalan ethos, and share a genuine love for retail.
- Lead seasonal and visual merchandising projects, ensuring store layouts comply with Matalan’s guidelines.
- Open and close stores safely and efficiently.
- Invest in your team’s development, delivering regular feedback and up-skilling opportunities.

Who Can Apply?
To thrive in this Team Manager position, we’re looking for:
- Experience in fashion or homeware retail Management, preferably in roles akin to this leadership position.
- A natural communicator, capable of inspiring, engaging, and developing teams.
- Clear examples of previous leadership or scripting it otherwise? Proven track records infuse remarkable guidance.
- Strong knowledge of visual merchandising and an eye for merchandising aesthetics.
- The ability to identify commercial opportunities, generate ideas, and implement them strategically.
- A full grasp of retail operations, operational excellence, and insightful cost awareness.
- The resilience to perform under pressure and adapt to change quickly.
