About The Role

The Team Manager role plays a pivotal part in delivering excellence in-store. As a key role model, you’ll uphold Matalan’s core values and behaviours while driving sales, fostering high performance, and cultivating a motivated team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a leader, coaching and motivating team members within the store’s management framework.
  • Speak directly with customers and translate feedback into actionable improvements to enhance their shopping experience.
  • Take full operational responsibility for the store during the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Drive sales targets by identifying opportunities and leveraging commerce expertise.
  • Lead visual merchandising by implementing store layouts and seasonal guidelines to align with market trends.
  • Open and close the store, ensuring seamless store operations.
  • Up-skill team members, delivering regular feedback to enhance performance.

About You

We’re looking for driven individuals with experience in Fashion or Homeware Retail. Ideal candidates:

  • Demonstrate confident communication skills, able to engage, inspire, and motivate others.
  • Can provide examples of leadership experience showing your capability to drive results.
  • Showcase a strong understanding of Visual Merchandising (VM) principles.
  • Identify sales opportunities, presenting creative and data-driven strategies.
  • Operational expertise within cost-aware retail execution without compromising service standards.
  • Remain resilient and adaptable under pressure, embracing change as part of growth.
