Team Manager – West Lancs Domiciliary Service
Position Overview
Location: Skelmersdale, West Lancashire Contract Type: Permanent, full-time (37 hours per week, including weekends and bank holidays) Salary: £32,061 – £36,363 (FTE) Additional Pay:
- 33% increment for weekend shifts
- 50% increment for bank holidays
- On-call payment (20.00–08.00, completed remotely)
This role is not open to international sponsorship.
About the Role
Lancashire County Council’s Adult Social Care – West Lancs Domiciliary Service supports individuals with disabilities or complex care needs, enabling them to live independently and access the community safely.
We are seeking a caring, reliable, and passionate Team Manager to:
- Lead a team of Community Support Workers
- Oversee high-quality personal care, household assistance, and social inclusion support
- Uphold the critical values of trust, empathy, and resilience
This role is ideal for those who want to make a tangible difference—whether you have healthcare experience or simply a warm heart, training, and progression opportunities are available.
The position includes on-call duties (20.00–08.00) to support emergency community needs, working remotely. A personal or company car is required, with insurance for business use. Alternative arrangements may apply for qualifying disabilities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support Delivery
- Manage a broad range of care services, including:
- Personal hygiene and grooming
- Household chores and meal preparation
- Medication management and emotional support
- Transportation for social activities (e.g., shopping, sports, hobbies)
- Ensure professionalism, consistency, and adaptability—empowering individuals to build confidence and meaningful social connections.
2. Lead a Team
- Supervise Community Support Workers, fostering collaboration while adhering to safeguarding policies.
- Maintain records, monitor quality care, and resolve challenges with integrity.

3. Enhance Independence & Confidence
- Tailor support plans to individual needs while encouraging self-sufficiency.
- Advocate for your team through proactive problem-solving and positive communication.
4. Operational & Compliance
- Liaise with third parties, agencies, and third-sector partners to secure further opportunities.

Requirements
Essential Attributes

Experience & Qualifications
- No prior experience required, but enthusiasm and integrity are crucial.
- Preferred: Background in social, health, or disability care (though not compulsory—training provided).
- Additional benefit: NVQ Level 3 equivalent (QCF) or willingness to develop/achieve skillm and take advantage of in-house carrieers assistanace.
