We are seeking a caring, reliable and passionate Team Manager to join West Lancs Domiciliary Service within Adult Social Care at Lancashire County Council. This is a unique opportunity to work within a supported living team, shaping meaningful lives through compassionate, high-quality care.
Our mission is just as important as the impact of your work: to make daily routines enjoyable, empower individuals, and break down challenges for adults with disabilities. We value cheerful, positive people who are motivated to foster growth and create a lasting difference.
The role includes weekend shifts, bank holidays, and on-call duties (20:00–08:00 at home), ensuring robust support for the community and emergency needs of our service. While a background in Health & Social Care isn't required, your ability to act as a warm, empathetic individual with a good heart is essential.

- Lead a community support team, ensuring high standards of dementia care, disability support, and general assistance to vulnerable individuals.
- Collaborate with service users to develop and deliver personalised care plans, including personal care, household tasks, medication management, and health promotion.
- On-call coordination – support emergency responses (20:00–08:00) while also managing daily operational duties from home.
- Drive a sense of community engagement by supporting service users in independent activities (e.g., shopping, leisure, social events).
- Work closely with Lancashire County Council management, partners, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with health and safety, equality, and safeguarding policies.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
