Team Manager - Governor Services

Team Manager for Governing Body Services – £47,181 - £52,413 Permanent · Full Time (37 hrs/week) · Hybrid · Meadow House, Littleworth, NG18 2TB


About the Role

The Children and Families Department adopts a strengths-based approach to working with children, young people, families, and partner agencies – known as “Our Nottinghamshire Approach”. At Nottinghamshire County Council, we foster a supportive, inclusive environment dedicated to making a positive difference.

You will lead the Governing Body Services team, providing critical advice, guidance, and support to governors of Local Authority Maintained schools. This role ensures governors stay informed of key legislative and policy changes while keeping senior Local Authority Officers updated on governance trends, challenges, and opportunities.

We are seeking a self-motivated, dynamic leader with expertise in the education sector.


In This Role, You Will

  • Lead and Inspire: Manage a team to deliver high-quality support for school governors.
  • Stay Informed: Monitor changes in legislation and policy impacting governance.
  • Communicate Effectively: Collaborate with senior officers to share governance insights.
  • Support Development: Provide training and guidance to governors for improved effectiveness.
  • Promote Best Practices: Encourage evidence-based governance across Nottinghamshire schools.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • A relevant level 4+ qualification (e.g., education, social care, child development, or family systems).
  • Strong evidence of continuous professional development. -deep knowledge of education governance, safeguarding, and risk/ budget management.
