Team Manager – Governing Body Services
Salary: £47,181 - £52,413 per annum
Type of vacancy: Permanent | Work pattern: Full Time (37 hours/week)
Location: Meadow House, Littleworth, Nottinghamshire, NG18 2TB Working Arrangements: Hybrid

About the Role
As Team Manager for Governing Body Services, you will lead a team providing vital advice, guidance, and support to governors within Local Authority Maintained schools across Nottinghamshire. Your role will ensure governors are informed about legislative and policy updates, while enabling senior Local Authority Officers to stay aligned with governance challenges and opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and Inspire: Manage, mentor, and motivate a team to deliver high-quality governance support to school boards.
- Stay Informed: Actively track legislative, policy, and governance changes impacting educational leadership.
- Communicate Effectively: Collaborate with senior staff and stakeholders to share governance dynamics and solutions.
- Support Development: Provide training, guidance, and best-practice strategies to empower governing bodies.
- Promote Best Practices: Champion evidence-based governance frameworks ensuring compliance and effectiveness across schools.

Policy and Governance Support
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of education law, procurement guidelines, and governance policies
- Offer expert guidance to councillors, school leaders, and governors on risk management and legal compliance
Engagement and Training
- Design and deliver governance training workshops tailored to=Nottinghamshire’s schools
- Facilitate stakeholder engagement, including partnerships with local authorities and voluntary sectors
Collaboration and Relationship Management
- Work closely with Education Strategy teams, Safeguarding, and HR to align governance services
- Liaise with ** مبكرا RA authorised organisations** for best practice and innovation sharing
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Level 4 qualification or above in education, social care, child development, family systems, or a related field
- Evidence of continuous professional development, particularly in governance and safeguarding
- Demonstrated expertise in governance practices, evidence-based decision-making, financial management
- Experience in ecology and education policy frameworks
- Minimum 5+ years’ leadership experience in governance or statutory education roles

- Strategic problem-solving: Ability to balance compliance with innovation in governance
- Excellent communication: Fluent in written (reports, memos) and verbal (presentations, stakeholder briefings)
- Analytical competency: Measuring impact of guidance offered to governing bodies
- Emotional intelligence: Managing diverse perspectives in collaborative discussions
