Are you looking for a new challenge? Do you want to lead a team working with adolescents who are experiencing risk outside the home? Are you resilient, energetic, engaging and want to make a difference? If yes, then this maybe the role for you!

At Slough Children First, we are developing our recognition and response to children who are experiencing Harm Outside the Home, and the progression of our partnership Exploitation Hub offers support, advice, guidance, training, consultation, and intervention.

Alongside this, we have implemented a social work team to hold statutory responsibility for children and young people, where the predominate factor is Harm Outside the Home; this will be inclusive of Criminal and Sexual Exploitation, County Lines, Serious Youth Violence and Missing. If you are a qualified and registered social work manager, interested in working with adolescents and understand contextual safeguarding, we would love to hear from you!!

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Slough is one of the most diverse places in the country outside of London and a great place to live or work. In fact it's the best place to live or work according to a survey by Glassdoor. Pleasant environments, above average salaries and a lower cost of living, mean an increased quality of life for employees. We're also one of the most accessible places to be, nestled on the corner of the M25, M4 and M40, and less than 20 minutes by train to Central London.
