As NHS Scotland’s unique provider of a national tele-health and tele-care service, we deliver health advice and information via telephone and online 24/7 to the population of Scotland.
Our services include triage, advice, guidance, referral, and information on health and healthcare – ensuring patients and the public are prioritised in everything NHS Scotland does.
Location & Base
This role is based in Dundee, with our Regional Centres across Scotland, including:
- Cardonald
- Clydebank
- South Queensferry
- Dundee (primary base)
- Aberdeen
The Role
NHS 24 is seeking an experienced Manager to join a multi-disciplinary team, offering a career that is exceptionally rewarding with an opportunity to make a real difference to people’s lives.
The Team Manager will provide visible and accessible leadership to staff in a clinical contact centre environment. This includes managing a team of direct reports, supervising protocol adherence, and offering general support in a patient-facing setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a pivotal management role, supporting Front Line staff across various patient-facing services to ensure patients are first in everything NHS Scotland does.
- Manage and develop 12 – 15 direct reports.
- Handle escalated calls within the service.
- Lead by example and support team success.
- Review processes and suggest areas for improvement, ensuring patients are directed to appropriate clinical services.
- Support all aspects of HR, including absence management and timesheet authorisation.

Requirements for the Successful Applicant
- Previous experience managing a team, preferably within a contact centre environment.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to support, guide, and develop a team to meet operational KPIs.
- Minimum qualification of National 5 level.
- Enthusiastic and professional approach.
- Performance management experience.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and KPIs for performance management.
