About The Role
As a Team Manager at Matalan, you’ll be a key role model for our stores, embodying Matalan’s Values and behaviours while optimising sales and leading a high-performing, energetic team.
Your responsibilities include:
- Coaching and motivating team members within the store management team.
- Taking responsibility for store operations in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Using customer feedback to shape a fantastic shopping experience.

Key Tasks:
- Drive sales targets and uncover sales opportunities.
- Be a living example of standout customer service and demonstrate passion for Retail.
- Lead weekly store layouts and follow visual merchandising guidelines.
- Carry out opening/closing duties.
- Upskill team members and provide regular performance feedback.

Requirements
To join our retail team, we’re looking for:
- Experience in similar roles within Fashion or Homeware Retail.
- Strong communication skills with proven ability to engage and inspire others.
- Leadership experience—share success stories or examples.
- A strong understanding of Visual Merchandising (VM) and how it impacts sales.
- Knack for identifying opportunities and driving creative solutions.
- Working knowledge of retail operations, cost control, and efficiency.
- Ability to adapt quickly to pressure and change.
