About The Role
Are you a highly organised, proactive administrator who thrives in a busy, fast-paced environment?
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Central Rail Systems Alliance Eastern Region as a Team Organiser, playing a vital role in keeping operational teams connected, supported, and running smoothly.
As the first point of contact for many day-to-day activities, you’ll be at the heart of the team — coordinating diaries, supporting meetings, arranging travel, maintaining key records, and helping colleagues access the tools, systems, and information they need to deliver successfully.
This role is based in Aston, Birmingham.
What you'll be doing
- Providing high-quality business and administrative support to the Central Rail Systems Alliance Eastern Region.
- Managing office administration, including mail, diary coordination, personnel records, and asset records.
- Supporting new starters by arranging system access, IT equipment, travel, vehicles, fuel cards, and permits where required.
- Organising meetings, preparing and sharing documentation, taking minutes, and following up actions.
- Providing a professional telephone presence and delivering excellent customer service on behalf of the team.
- Maintaining efficient filing systems and keeping key records accurate and up to date.
- Using financial and procurement systems to order stationery, consumables, and site-based equipment, plant, or materials.
- Helping resolve team issues, including IT and office facilities queries, and monitoring progress through to completion.
- Coordinating on-call packs, timesheets, and other administrative tasks as directed.
Who we're looking for
You’ll be someone who enjoys bringing order, pace, and professionalism to a busy team environment. You’ll be confident juggling priorities, communicating clearly, and building positive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
