Team Organiser - Keep Our Operations Running Smoothly

Location: Orpington

Contract: Full-Time Fixed Term Contract (8 Months) - please note this position may be extended or turn into a permanent post in the future

Salary: £27,000 -30,000 + Location Allowance

About The Role

Be the Backbone of Our Team

We're looking for a Team Organiser to provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support, ensuring our specialist teams can focus on keeping Britain moving. If you're highly organised, great at multitasking, and passionate about delivering excellent customer service, this role is for you.

What You'll Do

  • Manage general office administration, including mail control, diary coordination, and maintaining personnel records (including assets such as mobile phones).
  • Arrange travel, accommodation, vehicles, and order Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the team.
  • Organise meetings, prepare and distribute documentation, take minutes when required, and follow up on actions.
  • Provide a consistent telephone presence, delivering excellent customer service and sending team communications as needed.
  • Maintain efficient filing systems, ensuring records of meetings, statutory documents, and authorisations are up to date.
  • Use financial and procurement systems, acting as Local Purchasing Agent to order stationery and office consumables.
  • Report IT and office facility issues and monitor responses.
  • Undertake administrative tasks as directed, including technical literature searches.
  • Carry out the role in a way that reflects and reinforces Network Rail's values.

Your Experience And Skills

What you'll need

Essential

  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including a professional telephone manner.
  • Proficiency in relevant IT packages.
  • Experience working as part of a team.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of the railway environment and geography.
  • Recognised qualification in office management or keyboard skills.
  • Experience in records management.

All positive drugs and alcohol test results for prospective candidates will be securely held on Sentinel database and a 5 year suspension from applying for a safety critical role, a role which requires PTS certification or a Key Safety role on Network Rail Managed Infrastructure will be enforced.
