The opportunity:

The London Market PA and Secretarial team provide support to the London Market division within Markel International. You will play a key role in supporting the Speciality division by providing comprehensive administrative assistance, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, and offering direct support to the Personal Assistant and wider team as needed.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Arranging travel including flights, accommodation, transfers and visas
  • Processing expenses and invoices
  • Arranging team events including sending invitations, monitoring RSVPs and booking venues
  • Arranging outlook meetings, booking meeting rooms and requesting catering when required
  • Arranging team training and keeping an up-to-date training record
  • Circulating monthly and quarterly regulatory emails and monitoring responses
  • Collating and PDF report papers following monthly team meetings
  • Purchasing merchandise, gifts and organising baby/leaving cards etc
  • Keeping records up to date such as staff lists, organisational charts, travel spreadsheets
  • Provide general day-to-day administrative duties and other ad hoc tasks
  • Support the DSBD team with remuneration invoices and provide additional ad hoc administrative support as required

Our must-haves:

  • Experience in a similar administration or secretarial role, ideally within insurance
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to work effectively across a number of simultaneous activities and with a wide range of stakeholders
  • IT skills including MS Office, and the ability to develop a full understanding of in-house systems
  • Proactive approach
