Responsibilities

As a Team Supervisor based in Bedford, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Assisting the Branch Manager with the day-to-day running and operations within the branch and taking charge when they are not available
  • Supervising and supporting colleagues, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to achieve targets and goals
  • Serving customers on the trade counter, offering advice and product knowledge
  • Developing the customer base, improving retention, satisfaction, product mix, and range
  • Identifying and recommending ways to improve profits
  • Building rapport with suppliers
  • General warehouse duties including goods in & out, picking, and packing customer orders (this will involve manual handling heavy stock i.e., toilets, sinks, boilers, and radiators)
  • Ensuring compliance with policies and procedures

Job Requirements

  • Previous industry or merchant experience is preferable
  • Prior experience in a face-to-face customer service/sales environment is essential
  • Willingness to step up to run the branch in the Branch Manager's absence
  • Someone who is comfortable making outbound sales calls to customers
  • To be a team player who is happy to take on a diverse role to carry out all jobs in the branch to ensure it runs smoothly
  • Keenness to learn, with a positive and enthusiastic attitude and a strong work ethic

Working Hours

This is a full-time, permanent role working 40 hours per week:

  • Monday to Friday 08.00am - 5.00pm
  • Saturday on a rota basis 08.00am - 12.00pm
