Team Technical Lead – Pension Administration (Barnett Waddingham)

We are seeking a Team Technical Lead to join our fast-growing Pension Administration team. This is a permanent, full-time role, with a hybrid working arrangement, available at our offices in Birmingham, Cheltenham, or Bristol.
Key Responsibilities
• Liaise with specialist scheme teams on complex technical matters related to their scheme members, offering guidance, support, and expert consultancy
• Participate in client meetings, providing technical input as required
• Support the Client teams with ad hoc technical queries
• Engage directly with scheme members to resolve issues or clarify information
• Draft or contribute to client reports, ensuring technical accuracy

• Conduct peer reviews of complex scheme member or event calculations for the administration team
• Provide technical oversight and peer review for client projects, as needed
• Offer ongoing support to the team through ad hoc query resolution and training initiatives
Requirements
• Bachelor’s-level education in math or English (or equivalent, e.g., GCSEs at C/5s)
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical details at a level appropriate for the recipient—with tact and diplomacy
• Comprehensive knowledge of pension law
• Expertise in complex pension calculations
• An Associate of the Pensions Management Institute (PMI) is desirable but not mandatory
