Role Summary
We are seeking a Tech Lead Manager (TLM) to lead the advancement and scaling of our perception systems. Your role will involve steering a dedicated team in developing and deploying robust machine learning models that enable our vehicles to interpret and understand their environment. Collaboration, architectural innovation, and driving technical roadmaps will be central to this position.
Responsibilities
As part of our Autonomy organization, you will drive the strategy, architecture, and deployment of machine learning models for our vehicle's perception. These models underpin autonomous driving features and enhance in-vehicle experiences by empowering the vehicle to comprehend its surroundings.
Key Areas of Impact Include:
- Technical Strategy & System Architecture: Define and champion our technical vision, architecture, and roadmap for perception systems. Ensure alignment with autonomous driving requirements and integrate novel technologies effectively.

Perception Model Lifecycle Management: Oversee the complete development lifecycle of scalable machine learning models for critical tasks such as:
- Object detection
- Object tracking
- Scene understanding
- Mapping and navigation
This includes MLOps/data pipelines, optimisation, and ensuring robust onboard deployment.

Team Leadership & Mentorship: Build and nurture a high-performing team of machine learning engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence. Focus on both technical growth and continuous improvement.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Integration: Collaborate seamlessly with teams across the autonomy stack, including:
- Prediction and planning
- Simulation tools
- Hardware integration
- ML infrastructure
Deliver integrated, high-performing autonomous features that elevate the overall capability of our vehicles.
Qualifications
Educations & Experience
- MS or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, Machine Learning, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of professional experience post-graduation in:
- Machine learning
- Computer vision
- Robotics
- Perception for autonomous systems
- 3+ years of experience in technical leadership or managerial roles, guiding large engineering teams through complex projects
Technical Skills & Expertise
- Deep technical understanding of:
- Core machine learning principles
- Deep learning architectures (e.g., CNNs, Transformers)
- Computer vision algorithms
- Experience in developing and deploying perception algorithms, including:
- Object detection
- Segmentation
- Object tracking
- SLAM (Simultaneous Localisation and Mapping)
- Multi-sensor fusion
- Proficiency in Python and C++
- Familiarity with:
- Deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow)
- MLOps tools and platforms
