Forsyth Barnes are partnering with a fast-growing Nottingham-based eCommerce healthcare business entering an exciting new phase of growth.
The business is built around a clear mission making healthcare feel more human, accessible, and personal through a blend of online consultations, discreet delivery, and clinician-led support.
With a strong customer base and established platform already in place, they are now strengthening their engineering capability to improve how their core systems are built, extended, and scaled.
The Opportunity
This is a hands-on senior engineering role focused on building and evolving a live eCommerce platform.
You will work closely with founders and take ownership of core areas of the product including WordPress/WooCommerce development, custom functionality, APIs, and third-party integrations.

This is a product engineering role first and foremost, with the opportunity to influence technical direction as the platform evolves.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain WordPress / WooCommerce eCommerce platforms
- Build custom plugins, themes, and backend PHP functionality
- Deliver APIs and system integrations across third-party services
- Work across the full stack (PHP + JavaScript)
- Improve platform performance, stability, and scalability
- Contribute to architectural and technical decision-making
- Support and mentor other developers where appropriate
- Work closely with founders on product direction and delivery
Required
Experience
- Strong commercial experience with PHP development
- Proven experience with WordPress and/or WooCommerce
- Experience building custom plugins or themes
- Strong understanding of JavaScript (React, Vue, or vanilla JS)
- Experience with APIs and third-party integrations
- Ability to deliver features end-to-end in fast-paced environments

Nice to Have
- Laravel or other modern PHP frameworks
- Experience in eCommerce platforms (Shopify, Magento, BigCommerce)
- CI/CD, Docker or basic cloud exposure (AWS preferred)
- Experience working on high-traffic consumer platforms
