AWS Technical Account Manager
AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest-growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers, including public sector organisations.
The Role
An AWS Technical Account Manager serves as a trusted advisor and cloud operations architect for our Enterprise Support customers. As a trusted advisor, you will have a direct impact by helping our customers gain the most value from cloud technology. Your key responsibilities include:
- Crafting and executing strategies to drive adoption and usage of AWS services.
- Providing advocacy and strategic technical guidance to help customers plan and build solutions using best practices while proactively maintaining their AWS environments for optimal health.
- Building deep, trust-based relationships to understand their business/operational needs and technical challenges, helping them extract maximum value from AWS.
You’ll partner with a range of iconic businesses, from startups building from scratch to large enterprises undergoing transformation. Your responsibilities will span:
- Architecture advice and technical support
- Project and launch planning
- Ongoing operational issue resolution

Key Responsibilities
- Build and advocate for mission-critical technical solutions while supporting customers with expertise.
- Ensure AWS environments remain operationally healthy, reducing costs and complexity.
- Develop deep customer relationships, understanding their challenges and business needs.
- Leverage your technical expertise to engage in discussions about incidents, trade-offs, and risk management.
- Consult across stakeholders: from developers to C-suite executives.
- Collaborate with AWS Solutions Architects, Business Developers, Professional Services Consultants, and Sales Account Managers.
- Proactively identify opportunities for customers to gain further value from AWS.
- Support various customers through workload migration challenges.
- Uplift customer capabilities via technical workshops and enablement sessions.

Basic Qualifications
✔ Experience in technical engineering ✔ Troubleshooting expertise in three (3) of these categories:
- Compute
- Storage
- Networking
- CDN
- Databases
- DevOps
- Big data & analytics
- Security
- Applications development (in distributed systems).
Preferred Qualifications
✔ Experience with AWS services or other cloud platforms ✔ Customer-facing technical leadership in enterprise/external environments
