Interim Technical Accountant - 3 Month Assignment - Starting September 2026 - Hybrid - Central London - Half Year Reporting and IFRS 18 Project - £500 - £700 per day - Listed Business

Our client is entering a busy period and needs assistance with two key areas in the group team for initially 3 months. The first part will be to deliver the half year reporting and the second part performs a deep dive into IFRS18. Any spare capacity will allow you to help with the management accounts.

Interview will be in early August and the role will start in September.

Responsibilities

  • Lead half year reporting
  • Consolidate results from subsidiaries and business units
  • Eliminate intercompany transactions
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS
  • Produce the interim financial statements
  • Address technical queries from external auditor review
  • Variance analysis

IFRS 18 Project

  • Provide a deep dive review of IFRS18
  • Review the IFRS 18 standard in detail
  • Prepare accounting position papers
  • Identify differences between current reporting and future IFRS 18 requirements
  • Assess interpretation issues and areas requiring judgement
  • Present findings to the Finance Leadership Team and Audit Committee
  • IFRS 18 impact assessment report
  • Assess current performance measures and how they coexist with measures arising from IFRS18

Management Accounts

  • Assist when possible

Skills and Experience

  • Qualified accountant
  • PQE in industry
  • Excellent IFRS with the ability to explain how you would approach the IFRS18 project, demonstrate knowledge and understand the new standard.
  • Strong technical accounting and listed company reporting
  • Meet tight deadlines, ensure consistency and maintain strong controls
  • Be available to interview now/begin of August and start in September for 3 months
