Technical Accountant
£ Umbrella Day Rate
Pangbourne (Hybrid)
12 Month Contract
Our client is searching for a technical accountant to join their team in Pangbourne near Reading. Within this role, you will support our client's central technical accounting capability, ensuring high-quality IFRS application, group consolidation, and external reporting across a complex global organisation.
This is a hands-on technical accounting role focused on complex accounting judgements, reporting support, and technical advisory activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical accounting support on complex and non-routine accounting matters.
- Support IFRS interpretation and application across the organisation.
- Assist with group consolidation and external reporting activities.
- Review and challenge accounting treatments and reporting decisions.
- Prepare technical accounting papers, position memos, and supporting documentation.
- Partner with auditors and senior finance stakeholders on accounting issues.
- Support high-quality financial reporting across a global multi-entity environment.

Key Skills & Experience Required
- ACA or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- Proven hands-on technical accounting experience.
- Strong IFRS interpretation and application expertise.
- Group reporting and consolidation experience.
- Experience supporting complex accounting judgements.
- Ability to challenge accounting treatments and provide advisory support.
- Comfortable working with auditors and senior finance stakeholders.

Preferred Background
- Experience drafting technical accounting papers and position memos.
- Experience with complex, non-routine accounting issues.
- Global or multi-entity organisation experience.
- Big 4 Accounting Advisory background.
- Energy, Oil & Gas, FMCG, Manufacturing, or large multinational organisations.
