Technical Accounting Specialist

Location: London or Singapore

12-Month Fixed-Term Contract

Holtmon Jones is partnering with a leading global mining and commodities organisation to recruit a Technical Accounting Specialist.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced technical accountant to join a high-performing global finance team in a role that goes far beyond traditional financial reporting.

As the business's technical accounting expert, you'll provide trusted IFRS advice across complex commodity trading transactions, partnering with finance, commercial and trading teams from the outset of a deal through to completion. You'll play a key role in ensuring accounting implications are understood early, supporting commercial decision-making while maintaining compliance with IFRS and internal accounting policies.

In addition to advising on technical accounting matters, you'll support group and statutory reporting, lead the implementation of new accounting standards and policies, and work closely with Group Finance and external auditors.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
