About the Role
Santander UK PLC is seeking a Technical Accounting Manager based in Milton Keynes.
We’re offering an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and methodical manager to join our Technical Accounting team within the CFO Division.
The Difference You Make
This team is responsible for all technical accounting matters for Santander businesses in the UK. In this role, you’ll:
- Assess and communicate the impact of IFRS and SEC reporting developments across all UK businesses.
- Liaise with other Finance areas on IFRS implementation technicalities.
- Provide technical advice on:
- Products,
- Services,
- Corporate transactions.
- Support the preparation of relevant financial reports (annual, half-yearly, quarterly) for:
- Santander UK Group Holdings plc,
- Santander UK plc.
Key Responsibilities
You’ll be responsible for:
- Monitoring IFRS and SEC reporting changes, including:
- International Accounting Standards Board meetings,
- IFRS Interpretations Committee reviews.
- Drafting comment letters where necessary.
- Supporting the review of technical materials for external bodies.
- Drafting:
- Technical disclosures for statutory reports.
- IFRS and SEC disclosure checklists, including accounting policies and guidance.
- Providing IFRS technical accounting advice to the business (including detailed technical issue analyses).

What You’ll Bring
Professional Experience
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent) with experience in:
- UK public company reporting environment (required).
Hard Skills
- Strong IFRS technical accounting experience, including:
- Hands-on experience in preparing/presenting complex statutory accounts,
- IFRS technical interpretations (preferred).
- Financial services/SEC experience (desirable but not essential).
Soft Skills
- Attention to detail.
- Clear, effective communication.
- Problem-solving ability.

Competitive Salary & Conditions
- £53,500.00 – £80,250.00 per annum (based on experience). (Annual salary on a 35-hour working week).
- Further earnings will depend on skills, experience, qualifications, and location.
